Material & Environment

What are acoustic panels made of?
The panels consist of slats in various surface finishes – depending on the type – on a core of MDF, and a backing of acoustic PET felt made from recycled plastic.
What certifications do the panels have?
Some panels are FSC®-certified, and several are Nordic Swan Ecolabelled. Additionally, the materials are tested for low emissions and meet indoor climate requirements.
What is off-gassing, and is it dangerous?
Off-gassing is a natural process where materials emit odours shortly after unpacking. It is not dangerous in normally ventilated spaces and typically disappears within a few days.
Are the acoustic panels safe for indoor use?
Yes, they meet current standards for low emissions and are made with a focus on a healthy indoor climate and environmental responsibility.

Fire safety & Application

Are the acoustic panels fire-retardant?
Our standard panels are not fire-classified, but we offer a special series with fire classification B-s1,d0, developed for environments with higher fire safety requirements.
What is the fire classification of the panels in relation to radiators or wood-burning stoves?
For wood stoves and distance requirements, please consult your local chimney sweep, as rules and recommendations may vary depending on stove type and installation.
Can the panels be used outdoors?
No, the panels are intended for indoor use only. They are not suited for direct water contact or prolonged high humidity.
Can the acoustic panels be used in wet rooms or outdoor environments?
No, they are not suitable for humid areas such as bathrooms or for outdoor use, as wood veneer and MDF may be damaged by moisture.

Installation & Customisation

How are the acoustic panels installed?
The panels can be mounted directly onto walls or ceilings using screws through the felt layer or onto battens for improved acoustic performance. We offer detailed installation guides for both wall and ceiling mounting.
How do I mount the panels on the ceiling?
Use screws through the felt layer directly into the substrate, or mount the panels on battens for better sound absorption. It is recommended that two people carry out the ceiling installation.
Can the panels be cut to size?
Yes, they can easily be adjusted using a plunge saw or circular saw. We recommend using painter’s tape along the cut line to prevent chipping of the veneer or surface layer.

Can the panels be adapted to curved walls?
Yes, they can be bent up to approx. 45 degrees and mounted on curved surfaces like columns or rounded walls.
How do the acoustic panels adapt to different surfaces?
They can be mounted on plaster, concrete, wood, and other flat surfaces – and shaped to fit curved walls as needed.

How do I choose the right acoustic panel for my room?
Consider the function of the room, the colour tones, the amount of hard surfaces, and how much sound absorption you need. For example, choose darker felt for warm and muted rooms, and light felt to make a space feel airier.
What causes differences in colour between wood panels?
As we use genuine wood veneer, natural variations in colour and grain will occur. This is part of the authentic and exclusive look.
Are acoustic panels purely functional, or also decorative?
They are both – designed to improve acoustics while adding a modern aesthetic to the room.
What does “flickering” mean in relation to acoustic panels?
It’s a visual disturbance caused by high contrast between light and dark elements in the interior, especially on large surfaces.
How can I avoid flickering when using acoustic panels?
Choose low contrast between felt and surface Use the panels in smaller sections Place them outside of the direct line of sight Combine them with decorations like mirrors or artwork Mount slats horizontally for a calmer visual effect
